Ararat Meat Exports are specialists in the export of quality mutton and lamb and also sheep skins. The business was established in 1993, and it operates the largest mutton abattoir in Victoria. HALAL accredited, and under Department of Agriculture supervision, the abattoir slaughters approximately one million sheep per year.
All product processed at the abattoir is exported to markets around the world including North America, Caribbean, Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Located in Ararat 200 km west of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This location, enables livestock to be easily sourced as the abattoir is placed in the heart of Victoria’s sheep grazing country.
The company is privately owned and directly employs 350 people and indirectly contributes greatly to the local economy. The company is always looking for potential employees, especially young people wanting to undergo traineeships recognised Australia wide in the food processing industry.
