We are seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our team to assist with the pandemic clinical response. This casual position is available for an immediate start and includes working a 7-day rotating roster 9am until 12pm. The successful applicant will assist with the oropharyngeal and bilateral nasal swabbing of consumers being tested for COVID-19 that present through the WHCG COVID-19 Clinic, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Key Selection Criteria include:
Essential:
-
Students who have completed their first year of study in the following courses:
o Nursing and/or midwifery students/RUSON/Ms
o Physiotherapy or Speech Pathology students
o Paramedic students
o Medical or Dentistry students
OR
-
Qualified persons in the following areas:
o Dental therapists or dental assistants
o Pathology collector (certificate trained)
o Paramedics or First aid responders (certificate trained)
o Aboriginal Health Workers / practitioners

Well developed communication and interpersonal skills -
Computer literacy -
Ability to prioritise and work effectively with indirect supervision
Desirable:
-
Previous experience with Infection Control Precautions -
Understanding of PPE Donning and Doffing techniques
