COVID-19 PCR Test Collector

Clinical Services – COVID-19 Clinic

Grade/Classification dependent on qualifications & experience

We are seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our team to assist with the pandemic clinical response. This casual position is available for an immediate start and includes working a 7-day rotating roster 9am until 12pm. The successful applicant will assist with the oropharyngeal and bilateral nasal swabbing of consumers being tested for COVID-19 that present through the WHCG COVID-19 Clinic, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Selection Criteria include:

Essential:

  • Students who have completed their first year of study in the following courses:

o Nursing and/or midwifery students/RUSON/Ms

o Physiotherapy or Speech Pathology students

o Paramedic students

o Medical or Dentistry students


OR


  • Qualified persons in the following areas:

o Dental therapists or dental assistants

o Pathology collector (certificate trained)

o Paramedics or First aid responders (certificate trained)

o Aboriginal Health Workers / practitioners


  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Ability to prioritise and work effectively with indirect supervision

Desirable:

  • Previous experience with Infection Control Precautions

  • Understanding of PPE Donning and Doffing techniques
