About the role

The Campus Director (Wimmera) is a key leadership appointment within the Federation TAFE Executive team.

Responsible for the effective leadership and operational management of the Wimmera campus to enhance the student experience, ensuring growth in student numbers and achieving financial performance indicators. You will be responsible for overall business development; supervising the implementation of student attraction and retention, community and industry engagement strategies and managing change initiatives that enhances the reputation of the Wimmera campus and more broadly, Federation TAFE and University.

The Campus Director (Wimmera) works with a significant degree of autonomy and a strong focus on

  • strategic and operational imperatives for recruiting, retaining and supporting students at the Wimmera Campus; and
  • achieving strategic and operational objectives across financial, customer, business processes and organisational capability domains.

About you

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Federation TAFE you will lead and manage the Campus within realistic and measurable targets that contribute to the university’s strategic priorities and objectives. The incumbent will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of operational services and support to staff, students and members of the communities. The position is also responsible for ensuring all facilities within the Wimmera meet the requirements for the effective delivery of learning and teaching.

As the successful appointee you will possess expertise in strategic planning and operational implementation, with the capability to apply commercial acumen to grow business and deliver on strategic and operational objectives. You will come from a VET background, ideally within a dual-sector, however leaders from RTOs and other TAFE institutions will be highly regarded.

You will understand the nuances of working within a regional environment, and be a strong communicator with the ability to develop, and nurture strong professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

You will:

  • provide strategical and educational leadership;
  • lead business growth and financial stability for the Wimmera Campus;
  • enhance student, industry and community engagement; and
  • provide operational management for the Campus.

Directions from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer require all Victorian-based Federation University workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they are an Excepted Person as defined by the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions.
