Staff Development Officer (Health Promotion)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced project officer to empower the Southern Grampians Shire community in making changes to improve health outcomes. The successful candidate will support the health and wellbeing of WDHS staff and be the Team lead on the staff health and wellbeing committee and will be a capable and organised individual with experience in planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion or community development projects.

Ideally, they will also have an understanding of systems thinking, the social model of health, and determinants of health and their impact on populations.

The ability to form relationships and work collaboratively is important, with the position working closely with the Southern Grampians Glenelg Primary Care Partnership and GenR8 Change Teams.

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in health promotion, public health, community development or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work independently and a contributing team member.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated effective time management

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current employee National Criminal Police Check.

Dependent on your position you may be required to obtain an employee Victorian Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
