Supply clerk

Job Description

The Supply Clerk will perform duties of a procurement and stock management nature to assist in the efficient functioning of the Supply Department.

Applicants should have some experience in supply chain management, ideally within the health industry, and the ability to work to stringent procurement processes. You will be a team player with strong communications skills, a positive attitude, well developed negotiation skills and a strong customer service focus. Experience with Oracle purchasing software would be advantageous.

Duties involved in this position are listed below but not exclusive to:

  • Ensuring all supply queries are attended to in accordance with guidelines
  • Achieving efficiencies in the procurement function and work to identify additional cost savings in the organisation
  • Ensuring the requirements of the Health Service are met with regard to best value and quality
  • Assess stock requirements and appropriately advise on availability bearing in mind quality, cost and standardisation
  • Ensure smooth flow of the system beginning from assessing needs to authorisation and distribution
  • Sorting and distribution of stock to relevant departments
  • Comply with EGHS protocols for the avoidance of over or under supply
  • Maintain computerised stock records
