Job Description

Registered Nurse – Graduate Program 2023:

Fixed term contract – 12 months, 64 to 80 hours per fortnight

Program commencement will be Monday 30th January 2023

Western District Health Service has an exciting opportunity for a newly graduated registered nurse to participate in the 2023 Graduate Nurse Program.
The overall aim of the Graduate Program is to provide facilitated support in the clinical environment for transferring existing knowledge into quality outcomes and developing further knowledge and skills to progress with independent learning and practice.

The 12 month program will provide an excellent foundation for future career advancement by providing participants with the opportunity to develop acute and aged care clinical skills supported by trained preceptors, Practice Development Nurses and the Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator.

The Graduate Nurse Program provides positions for three individual specialty rotations. The specialty rotations comprise of acute emergency rotations, aged care rotations and rotations which are predominately acute with one aged care rotation

All applicants for this position are required to be registered with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) – Computer Matching Service and select Western District Health Service as one of the available four preferences.

Applications are to include; cover letter stipulating which specialty rotation the applicant is applying for, current resume, including three clinical referees and three recent clinical placement reports. Please also include a copy of your academic record.

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police Check. Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check. All successful applicants are to comply with WDHS immunisation and vaccination requirements, including COVID and Booster
