Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
Hours Negotiable
The Position
We are seeking an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our dedicated team in the Horsham Campus of Grampians Health. This position is available for an immediate start and includes working Monday to Friday with participation in an on-call roster. This role involves providing a safe and high quality service as part of the team which include a Registrar, an Intern, Nurses & Midwives and the wider Allied Health team. The successful applicant will perform duties including supervision, assessment and mentorship. This role will have input into quality improvement, policies, procedures and incident reviews. An attractive salary package will be negotiated for the right candidate. Terms and conditions are in accordance with the Victorian Public Health Services Medical specialists Enterprise Agreement.
The Health Service
The Horsham Campus has an average of 325 births per year, 12,500 admissions and 4,600 operations and 16,000 ED attendances annually. We have a theatre complex, including a day procedure unit, a five-bed intensive care unit, and acute and subacute wards all set within a picturesque garden setting.
The Region
The city of Horsham has population of 19,500 and is a 300 kms from Melbourne on the Western Highway and 400kms to Adelaide. It is well serviced city with diverse education and businesses and positioned at the northern end of the Grampians National Park, nearby lakes and world famous rock-climbing areas as well as being a wine and food hub.
Key Selection Criteria include:
Essential:
- A current registration as a Medical Specialist with the Medical Practitioners Board Of Australia/AHPRA
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a multi-disciplinary team, including supervising, supporting and leading Junior Medical Officers and Medical Students
- Demonstrated organisational, time management and problem-solving skills within a complex clinical environment
