(up to 80 hrs per fortnight available)

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated individual to join our Community Rehabilitation Centre (CRC) team as a Movement Disorder (MD) Nurse. This fixed term position is available for an immediate start until June 2023 and includes working Monday to Friday, with hours able to be negotiated. Please indicate in your application how many hours you’re interested in. This innovative position allows the successful applicant to work with Parkinson Victoria to build the capacity of the service and deliver a nursing led model of care, in conjunction with the project advisory group. The MD Nurse will be responsible for providing advice in the assessment and management of clients with movement disorders. This position includes professional development opportunities through networking with other health services’ MD Nurses and paid professional memberships and education through the Australian College of Nursing. This position is part of the broader Sub Acute Non Admitted team in Grampians Health, where there are multiple opportunities past the cessation date.

Key Selection Criteria include:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated comprehensive clinical skills and experience in gerontology, including assessment, treatment and management of a range of conditions
  • Well developed understanding of an evidence based approach to person-centred care in movement disorder management
  • Demonstrated understanding of service delivery across the health care continuum, including aged care, inpatient and community care services
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in assisting clients and their families to self-manage chronic health conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment

Desirable:

  • Post graduate qualifications in relevant area of speciality and/or expert knowledge regarding the management of patients with movement disorders
  • Demonstrated ability to build team member capability through education and training
